From looking to slim by a matter of pounds, to being overweight and seeking a healthier lifestyle, there are a number of reasons why you might want to lose weight. But, it’s no easy feat, and a lack of results can make the journey seem even more of a challenge. The NHS advise that a healthy, balanced diet, is the best diet plan for weight loss – and getting some regular exercise in could be very beneficial indeed. Some people may choose to drinks which could aid slimming – such as apple cider vinegar, which is sometimes known as ACV.

Amongst the health benefits it seems to have, such as lowering blood sugar levels, this drink contains acetic acid, and research has shown this could lead to an increased in the genes responsible for fat burning.

The results of another study show that apple cider vinegar could improve a person’s metabolism.

In addition, this drink may have links with satiety levels – in that it could suppress one’s appetite.

What’s more, according to a different study, the acetic acid in ACV could reduce fat storage.

However, it’s important to remember that drinking apple cider vinegar could leave you vulnerable to side-effects.

According to Healthline, too much of the drink may lead to issues which include the erosion of tooth enamel, throat burns, and unpleasant digestive symptoms.

So, if you do decide to regularly drink apple cider vinegar for weight loss, how should you drink it?

There are a number of ways in which you can consume the beverage.

For instance, mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with cold water.

But, bare in mind that having a high dosage of ACV could lead to potentially harmful side-effects.

Similarly, you could sweeten the drink by adding one to two tablespoons of organic honey or maple syrup to the diluted ACV.

Or, if you’re looking for a different flavour, lemon juice or cayenne pepper are alternative options.

You could also add it to your food, such as in a salad dressing.

Healthline suggest mixing it with olive oil and drizzling over your greens.

It’s thought that between one and two tablespoons each day for a matter of months could help to shift more pounds than you would have done without drinking it.
