The five most-viewed listings on The New York Times’s Find a Home site in January included a private island in the Bahamas and homes on the Upper East Side and in Hoboken, N.J.

The most popular listing in January was a stunning three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with high ceilings, arched pocket doors, a decorative fireplace, a windowed kitchen and bathrooms, and views facing out to Park Avenue and 91st Street.

The second most-popular listing was a three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment with 11 oversized windows overlooking Park Avenue and the grandeur that comes with a white-glove building designed by Rosario Candela.

Down from second place in December was this lavish, 20,000-square-foot, Beaux-Arts home with 17 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms (and landmark status) on eight levels of vast, ornately decorated spaces. Central Park awaits just across the street.

Climbing into fourth place was a 554-acre island with two miles of ocean frontage that was once the site of a plantation producing cotton and palm oil. A 1930s structure known as “the castle” could be refurbished for living.

Coming in at no. 5 was a three-bedroom in Hoboken at a fraction of the cost of a comparably appointed Manhattan apartment. The unit has a master bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a walk-in closet, top-of-the-line Viking appliances, and parking.
