The liquid does hold many health benefits, such as lowering blood sugar and slowing digestion of food, but how is it effective in weight loss?

When drunk everyday, apple cider vinegar can tackle belly fat and reduce body fat percentage.

Healthline explains the main component in apple cider vinegar is acetic acid, which dissolves into acetate and hydrogen in the body.

A study on rats showed how acetate has an effect on the digestion system and found acetate to promote weight loss in many ways.

These include decreasing insulin levels, reducing fat storage, burning fat, and suppressing appetite.

It also can improve your metabolism and reduce fat and sugar production in the liver.

More research is needed on humans to confirm these findings.

Nevertheless, drinking apple cider vinegar each day can have a boost on your health, but how much should you consume?

Healthline advise one to two tablespoons (15-30 ml) be taken each day, mixed with water.

They recommend you don’t take more than one tablespoon at a time as too much in one sitting could cause nausea.

One easy method would be to mix it with olive oil as a salad dressing.

Lowers blood sugar and insulin

When taken with a high-carb eat, apple cider vinegar has been shown to significantly lower blood sugar and insulin levels after eating.

Studies in diabetic and normal rats and mice found apple cider vinegar increased “good” HDL cholesterol and reduced “bad” LDL cholesterol.

Lowers blood pressure

Vinegar has been shown in animal studies to “inhibit the enzyme responsible for constricting blood vessels”.

Kills harmful bacteria

Vinegar fights bacteria that can cause food poisoning, including E. coli.
